Kawasaki disease is not classified as a directly hereditary disease. However, there is strong evidence to suggest that genetic predisposition plays a role in its development. Children with a family history of Kawasaki disease (especially if a sibling has had the illness) or those with specific genetic markers have a higher risk of developing the disease. This indicates that genetic factors make a significant contribution to the onset of the disease.
