Cardiac MRI generally has no known serious side effects. However, there is a risk of allergic reactions to the contrast agent used during the procedure, and in patients with pre-existing kidney insufficiency, there is a risk of temporary deterioration in kidney function if necessary precautions are not taken. Apart from these situations, it is generally a safe procedure.
