In cases of obstructive azoospermia, despite normal sperm production in the testes, sperm cannot be expelled due to a blockage in the sperm ducts. In these cases, various surgical aspiration methods are used to retrieve sperm. Techniques such as PESA (Percutaneous Epididymal Sperm Aspiration) and TESA (Testicular Sperm Aspiration), which do not require an incision, allow for direct sperm retrieval from the epididymis or testis, respectively. MESA (Micro-epididymal Sperm Aspiration), on the other hand, involves performing the same procedure surgically under an operating microscope with a more detailed approach. In cases of obstructive azoospermia, the success rate of retrieving sperm with these methods is close to 100%. Currently, among the mentioned methods, TESA is the most commonly preferred aspiration technique.
