Stem cell therapy is used in orthopedics for the treatment of certain joint conditions. It can be an option, particularly for patients experiencing cartilage damage and related pain in joints such as the shoulder, hip, and knee, who do not yet require surgical intervention or prefer not to undergo surgery. However, in cases of significant or near-total loss of joint cartilage, stem cell therapy is generally not a suitable treatment option.
