The precise etiology of aneurysmal bone cysts (ABCs) remains unknown. Initially, pain may be mild and gradually worsen over time. ABCs typically do not cause pronounced symptoms unless a fracture occurs due to structural weakness. They are sometimes incidentally discovered during X-ray examinations performed for unrelated complaints. The cyst can thin the bone integrity, making it susceptible to cracks or fractures even after minor trauma. In such cases, swelling and pain become more noticeable and severe.
