POEM (Peroral Endoscopic Myotomy) is an innovative endoscopic treatment method performed in a limited number of specialized centers worldwide. In this procedure, the esophagus is accessed orally, similar to standard endoscopic procedures. Specifically, in patients diagnosed with achalasia, the dysfunctional muscles in the lower part of the esophagus are endoscopically cut and relaxed. This intervention aims to relieve patients' swallowing difficulties, enabling them to eat comfortably and easily.
