Cryoablation with liquid nitrogen, applied via a spray method, is used in the treatment of benign bone tumors, particularly those considered locally aggressive such as giant cell tumor of bone, aneurysmal bone cyst, and chondroblastoma. These tumors are generally observed in patients aged 15-30 who are either nearing or have completed skeletal development, and this method is preferred in this patient group. However, in patients under 15 years of age, especially for tumors affecting growth plates, the use of liquid nitrogen should be avoided due to its potential to inhibit growth.
