Otosclerosis, also known as inner ear calcification, is a condition whose most common symptom is hearing loss. This hearing loss usually manifests as difficulty hearing low-frequency or high-pitched sounds and can progress over time. It is often experienced bilaterally. In addition to hearing loss, other symptoms of otosclerosis may include:

* Dizziness and Balance Problems: Since the inner ear is responsible for both hearing and balance functions, otosclerosis can lead to dizziness and loss of balance.
* Tinnitus and Ear Pain: Tinnitus (ringing in the ears) and ear pain are also common symptoms of otosclerosis.
* Tendency to Speak Softly: Patients with otosclerosis often tend to speak more softly because they perceive their own voice as louder.
* Paracusia of Willis: This condition is characterized by patients hearing ambient noise less and conversations more clearly in noisy environments. It is a typical symptom for otosclerosis.
