Premenstrual Syndrome (PMS) is a common condition encompassing physical symptoms such as bloating, headaches, and breast tenderness, along with emotional symptoms like anxiety, depression, and mood swings, which typically emerge 1-2 weeks before the start of the menstrual cycle. These symptoms usually alleviate or cease once menstrual bleeding begins. If symptoms are severe enough to significantly impact quality of life and daily functioning, the condition may be classified as Premenstrual Dysphoric Disorder (PMDD), a more serious psychiatric disorder.
