Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) is a preventable and treatable condition. Early diagnosis is crucial for effective management. Detecting COPD in its initial stages, combined with smoking cessation and consistent medication use, can significantly prevent disease progression. Regardless of the disease's severity, quitting smoking positively influences its trajectory. Patients who stop smoking may experience an improvement of up to 10% in their respiratory function within a minimum of two months. However, the irreversible structural changes that occur in the lungs of COPD patients currently have no curative treatment.
