During 3D mammography (tomosynthesis), which involves capturing multiple images of each breast, patients are exposed to a minimal amount of radiation. This radiation dose, however, is very low, adheres to strict safety guidelines, and is quickly dissipated by the body, posing no significant long-term risk.
