Before an exercise stress test, the patient undergoes a comprehensive preliminary examination. An electrocardiogram (ECG) is taken while the patient is at rest, and this data is evaluated by a doctor along with the patient's other test results. The test must be performed under the supervision of a specialist doctor, as potential changes in ECG waveforms need to be closely monitored. When the procedure begins, the patient is placed on a treadmill, and the incline and speed of the treadmill are gradually increased every three minutes. Intermittent blood pressure measurements are taken during this time. If adverse findings or symptoms are observed, the test may be terminated without waiting for its completion.
