Omphalocele treatment is individualized based on the size of the defect (classified as minor, umbilical cord hernia, or major omphalocele) and the presence of other accompanying anomalies. While direct surgical repair is often sufficient for minor omphaloceles, larger defects may require repair using a patch or staged surgical approaches.
