The most prevalent form of color blindness in society is red-green color blindness. In this type, individuals perceive green, yellow, orange, and red similarly, often making it difficult to distinguish between them. A rare and more severe form of color blindness involves progressive vision impairment, where the affected individual perceives all colors in shades of black and white. Generally, color blindness does not pose significant challenges in daily life. However, the inability to distinguish red and green can present vital risks, particularly as these colors are widely used in critical warnings and land/marine signaling globally. Furthermore, individuals with severe color blindness may be restricted from certain professions that require accurate color perception.
