Varicocele presents with symptoms such as pain, swelling in the scrotum, and a feeling of warmth in the testicles. Over time, the enlargement of the veins caused by varicocele may become visible to the naked eye.
Symptoms of varicocele include:
* Discomfort and sharp pain in the testicles
* Enlargement of veins due to prolonged standing
* Swelling of the scrotal skin
* One testicle being smaller than the other due to enlarged veins on that side
* Infertility
* Varicose veins in the legs
* Testicular atrophy, although rare, can be seen in some patients. Pain in the testicles usually lessens when lying down. Pain after strenuous activities such as prolonged standing, sports, or sexual activity may also indicate varicocele. Pain may be more noticeable after walking, exercising, or sexual activity.
