Colonic polyps are considered abnormal growths that arise from the inner lining of the intestinal tract. Colonic polyps are usually harmless and benign, but neglected polyps that progress and grow can lead to much more serious health problems, primarily cancer.

Rectal bleeding, changes in bowel habits, blood in the stool, cramping abdominal pain, and iron-deficiency anemia are among the symptoms of colonic polyps.
