To ensure the accuracy and reliability of your sperm test, it is important to follow the guidelines below during sample collection:
* Avoid Contaminants: Avoid using soap, lubricants, or any similar foreign substances during semen sample collection.
* Prevent Contamination: Ensure that your penis and fingers do not touch the inner surface of the provided collection container or its lid.
* Collect the Entire Sample: It is critically important that the entire semen (the full ejaculate) is collected into the provided container.
* Report Issues: If any part of your sample spills outside the container or if you encounter any other collection issue, please inform the laboratory staff immediately.
* Alternative Collection Methods: If you are unable to provide the sample in the laboratory environment, please inform the laboratory staff or the In Vitro Fertilization (IVF) department patient advisors. They will assist you in discussing suitable alternative collection methods with your doctor.
