Sperm testing (spermiogram) must be performed by specialist physicians in fully equipped hospitals. The male patient should deliver the sperm sample to an equipped center after a period of sexual abstinence of at least 2 days and a maximum of 5 days. Sperm test results are available after 1 day. Your doctor may request the sperm test 2 or more times with intervals of 3-8 weeks.

It is recommended that the sperm sample be collected at the hospital. For patients who have difficulty providing a sample at the hospital, it is recommended that the sample be delivered to the laboratory as soon as possible and at a temperature close to body temperature. In patients who cannot provide a sample through masturbation, a sample can be collected with the help of a partner using special condoms developed for semen analysis and containing no substances toxic to sperm. The collected sample must be evaluated in the laboratory within 1 hour.
