Physiological reflux is a common condition observed in many infants. With accurate diagnosis and appropriate treatment, discomforts associated with reflux can be effectively alleviated. Diagnostic methods include pH monitoring, a crucial tool. This procedure involves gently placing a thin catheter with pH sensors into the infant's esophagus. Specifically, electrodes positioned near the junction of the esophagus and stomach allow for 24-hour monitoring of the frequency and acidic nature of reflux episodes. Endoscopy is another diagnostic method.
