Tularemia is an infectious disease caused by the bacterium Francisella tularensis. This disease is transmitted from infected animals to humans. It typically spreads through bites from ticks and flies, or via direct contact with animals such as infected rodents and wild rabbits. The presence of the bacterium in specific geographical regions leads to the disease being frequently observed in those areas. Antibiotic treatment is administered to eliminate the infection and manage symptoms.
