A cardiac stress test is typically indicated for individuals with a history of myocardial infarction, unexplained hypertension, cardiac arrhythmias, or previous cardiac surgery. It is also performed for patients experiencing chest pain during physical exertion, or those with diagnosed atherosclerosis, especially following a bypass procedure. This examination is considered when a patient presents with these or similar cardiovascular concerns to a physician.
