The treatment for neuropathy is determined by its underlying etiology. As diabetes is the most common cause, effective control of blood sugar is a fundamental step. In cases of diabetic neuropathy, treatments such as analgesics and specific neuropathic medications can be administered to manage symptoms and alleviate nerve damage. For neuropathies associated with chronic kidney failure, the removal of accumulated toxic metabolites from the body is critical. Accordingly, pharmacological treatments and, if necessary, dialysis contribute to the improvement of neuropathy. For genetic neuropathies, a definitive cure is not yet available, and most treatments are still in the research phase. In these cases, patient-specific physiotherapy and supportive treatments aimed at symptom relief are applied.
