If preventative measures are not taken, diseases related to heart valves can be life-threatening; however, early diagnosis and appropriate treatment can lead to successful outcomes. Heart valve replacement surgery refers to the repair or complete replacement of heart valves due to heart valve disease. Heart valve diseases increase the workload on the heart, strain the heart muscle, and impair heart function. Therefore, heart valve replacement or repair is necessary.
