Thymoma is one of the most common tumors originating from the thymus gland in adults and found in the mediastinal region. Although it generally possesses malignant potential, it is quite rare in childhood. These tumors occur with equal frequency in men and women, mostly between the ages of 50 and 60. Due to their slow growth tendency, patients with thymoma generally exhibit a higher survival rate compared to some other types of cancer.
