Toxoplasmosis is a parasitic infection caused by the single-celled parasite *Toxoplasma gondii*. It is typically acquired through the consumption of undercooked, contaminated meat or contact with infected cat feces. While most infected individuals remain asymptomatic, the parasite can be transmitted from a pregnant person to their fetus. In some cases, symptoms such as fever, fatigue, muscle aches, and swollen lymph nodes may manifest. Complications, which can be severe, are particularly concerning for pregnant individuals and those with weakened immune systems. Early diagnosis and timely treatment are crucial to mitigate the risk of complications and alleviate the disease's potential impact.
