Sjögren's syndrome is an autoimmune disease that can present with severe symptoms. Immunosuppressive drugs may be used for the management of this syndrome. Due to the general nature of autoimmune diseases, Sjögren's syndrome can increase the risk of developing lymph gland cancers such as lymphoma. Therefore, patients are strongly advised to undergo regular cancer screenings.
