Premenstrual Syndrome (PMS) is a common condition characterized by a range of physical and emotional symptoms that typically emerge one to two weeks before the menstrual period. These symptoms may include bloating, headaches, breast tenderness, anxiety, depression, and mood swings. The symptoms generally resolve once menstruation begins. In cases where these symptoms are particularly severe and significantly interfere with daily life or cause marked distress, the condition is classified as Premenstrual Dysphoric Disorder (PMDD), a more severe form of PMS that is recognized as a psychiatric disorder.
