During an NST (Non-stress Test), the baby's heart rate is normally expected to be between 120 and 160 beats per minute. Variability within this range, and the heart rate temporarily increasing with the baby's movements (by at least 15 bpm for at least 15 seconds) before returning to its baseline level, are important indicators generally suggesting the baby is in good condition.
