Hysterosalpingography (HSG) is a medical imaging method used to thoroughly examine the structure of the uterine cavity and fallopian tubes. This procedure plays a significant role in evaluating the female reproductive system, particularly for investigating causes of infertility. During the procedure, a special contrast medium is injected into the uterus, followed by X-ray imaging. This allows for a clear visualization of the uterine lining, whether the fallopian tubes are open or blocked, and any potential structural abnormalities. HSG is a rapidly performed, generally well-tolerated, and minimally risky test that provides critical data for accurate diagnosis and effective treatment planning.
