Specific preparation is required for a TEE (Transesophageal Echocardiography) examination.
* Refrain from consuming solid and liquid food for at least 6 hours before the procedure.
* Please inform your doctor in advance about any medications you are regularly taking. If necessary, discuss the dosage or timing of your medication with your doctor.
* Removable dental prostheses (dentures) must be taken out before the procedure.
* If you have any health issues such as difficulty swallowing, esophageal problems, allergies (especially to medications), asthma, a known stomach condition, or a history of stomach surgery, please ensure to inform the performing physician.
* When coming to the hospital, please bring all relevant previous test results and an up-to-date list of all medications you are currently using, and share them with your doctor.
* Before the procedure, sedatives and anti-nausea medications will be administered intravenously to ensure your comfort and prevent potential nausea.
