Thymoma is a tumor originating from the thymus gland. If left untreated, it can lead to serious health problems and pose a life-threatening risk. However, since thymomas are generally slow-growing tumors, patients' survival time is typically longer compared to other types of cancer. Especially when treated with surgical intervention in early stages, patients' prognosis improves considerably, and long-term survival rates significantly increase.
