There is currently no definitive cure for HIV/AIDS. However, modern antiretroviral therapy (ART), which is used today, significantly suppresses the viral load in the blood, allowing the immune system to maintain its effectiveness for many years. This treatment does not completely eradicate HIV infection from the body and must be continued regularly for life to keep the virus under control.
