For the capsule endoscopy procedure, the patient should arrive at our clinic on the morning of the procedure day, on an empty stomach. The capsule is swallowed by the patient with a glass of water. Two hours after swallowing the capsule, liquid consumption can begin, and light foods can be consumed after four hours. Approximately six hours later, the patient is required to return to the clinic. Light walks are recommended to facilitate the capsule's progression by increasing bowel movements. However, strenuous physical activities such as running, jumping, and exercises that cause sweating should be avoided. The capsule, which has a battery life of approximately eight hours, is expected to pass through the entire small intestine and reach the large intestine within this period. During the procedure, care should be taken to ensure that the device connections do not become dislodged, and the warning lights on the recording device should be periodically checked. At the end of this period, the recording device is removed, connected to a computer, and all recorded images are transferred. Thousands of images captured become reviewable through special software. The doctor evaluates the photos recorded by the device in detail for approximately three hours and reports the findings.
