As with any medical procedure, percutaneous coronary intervention carries certain risks. The extent of these risks is largely and directly related to factors such as the patient's general health status and conditions, the location of the narrowing, the overall condition of the affected vessel and other coronary arteries, as well as the experience of the physician performing the procedure.
