Familial Mediterranean Fever (FMF) is a genetically inherited autoinflammatory disease that primarily affects individuals of Mediterranean descent. It is characterized by recurrent episodes of fever and painful inflammation (serositis) in the abdomen, chest, and joints, typically manifesting in early childhood. Amyloidosis is the most serious and potentially fatal complication of FMF.
