Endodontic treatment is performed when the pulp tissue (the structure containing the tooth nerve and blood vessels), located inside the tooth, becomes inflamed or infected due to reasons such as decay, trauma, or fractures. Each tooth root contains one or more root canals, within which the pulp tissue resides. When bacteria penetrate the internal structure of the tooth, inflammation or infection develops in the pulp tissue. This condition typically manifests as severe pain; sensitivity to cold or hot foods and beverages may occur, and touching the tooth can trigger pain. The primary goal of endodontic treatment is to carefully remove the inflamed or infected pulp tissue, clean, and disinfect the root canals. This treatment aims to preserve the tooth in the mouth and prevent its loss.
