The symptoms of Swine Flu (H1N1) typically have a sudden onset and include high fever reaching up to 39-40 degrees Celsius, dry cough, sore throat, runny nose or nasal congestion, headache, chills, shivering, and generalized muscle and joint pains, weakness, and fatigue. Additionally, gastrointestinal and other symptoms such as diarrhea, nausea, vomiting, redness and discharge in the eyes may also be observed. Shortness of breath, especially in infants and children, should be closely monitored.
Individuals with underlying health conditions are at a higher risk for swine flu. Serious complications like lung infection (pneumonia) and respiratory failure can be life-threatening. Therefore, it is crucial to seek medical attention without delay if symptoms such as prolonged and persistent fever, general deterioration, respiratory distress, or confusion develop.
