In diabetic patients, due to impaired capillary structures and blood circulation, wound care after amputation is of vital importance. Following surgical intervention, regular wound dressings must be meticulously monitored for the development of infection or necrosis (tissue death) in the wound area. Early detection of such complications is critical to prevent potentially serious consequences; otherwise, an additional amputation at a higher level may sometimes be required.
