Bone tumors can manifest anywhere in the skeletal system as benign masses, malignant bone cancers, or metastases spread from another part of the body. Particularly in patients under 18 years of age, bone cancer is more frequently observed in the growth plates near joint areas such as the knee, hip, or shoulder. While limb amputation was commonly performed for bone cancer treatment until twenty years ago, modern treatment methods now allow for the successful preservation of patients' arms and legs in over 90% of cases.
