Parkinson's patients should adopt a Mediterranean-style diet rich in fruits, vegetables, and olive oil. Due to the increased risk of falls associated with the disease, special attention should be paid to bone health. Under your doctor's guidance, calcium and vitamin D levels should be regularly monitored, and if necessary, supplements and calcium-rich foods like milk, cheese, and yogurt should be incorporated into your diet. While studies continue regarding the relationship between vitamin E and the progression of Parkinson's disease, there is currently no definitive and consistent scientific evidence. Nevertheless, a diet rich in antioxidants is known to be beneficial for overall health. Adequate intake of B vitamins, such as vitamin B12 for cognitive functions and vitamin B6 for Parkinson's management, should also be considered. In cases where some patients experience swallowing difficulties (dysphagia), the preparation method of foods should be re-evaluated with the help of a doctor or dietitian.
