In cases of unexplained infertility, despite detailed investigations, no apparent cause preventing pregnancy is found in either partner. Interestingly, this patient group can often achieve the highest pregnancy success rates with in vitro fertilization (IVF) treatment. Sometimes, the underlying problem only becomes evident during the treatment process. For instance, issues such as poor egg quality or fertilization problems may only become clear during or after egg retrieval and microinjection procedures.
