Intrauterine insemination (IUI) is a method where medications (pills or injections) are given to women to stimulate the growth of one or two egg follicles. Immediately before the eggs are released, sperm collected from the male partner is specially prepared in a laboratory and then directly placed into the uterus using a thin catheter. The success rate of this procedure for pregnancy is around 15-20%, similar to the chances of natural conception.
