Surgical survival rates are significantly better for lesions with a diameter less than 5 cm compared to those exceeding 5 cm. Under ideal conditions (lesions less than 5 cm, solitary, and without metastatic spread), the expected 5-year survival rate following surgical resection is approximately 60%.
