Following a lip filler procedure, especially on the first evening, patients may experience a mild feeling of fullness, swelling, or slight burning due to edema. These conditions are generally considered normal and can be alleviated with over-the-counter pain relievers and cold compresses. Applying cold compresses after the procedure is beneficial to minimize the risk of swelling and bruising. However, sudden, increasing pain or symptoms such as blanching (whitening) of the lips, occurring during or after the lip filler procedure, are not normal. Such symptoms may indicate that the filler has been injected into a blood vessel. In such a situation, it is crucial to immediately consult the performing surgeon or an experienced physician.
