Men diagnosed with penile cancer may undergo surgical procedures such as partial penectomy (removal of cancerous tissue along with some healthy penile tissue) or total penectomy (removal of the entire penis). Coping with the side effects of these surgical treatments can be challenging. Dealing with the physical and psychological impact of losing part or all of the penis often requires significant emotional and psychological support to help men face changes to their body image, self-esteem, and sexual function.
