Micro TESE (Microscopic Testicular Sperm Extraction) is a surgical method applied to men who have no sperm in their ejaculate (non-obstructive azoospermia). This procedure is performed under general anesthesia with microscopic guidance. During the surgery, the testis is opened, and enlarged tubules with high sperm production potential are carefully examined, and attempts are made to extract sperm from these areas. With Micro TESE, viable sperm can be found in 40% to 60% of patients diagnosed with azoospermia, depending on the underlying cause. The operation may last approximately 2 hours until viable sperm are found. As it is a surgical procedure involving the genital area, potential risks such as bleeding and infection exist in the post-operative period. Adherence to doctor's recommendations is absolutely essential for managing these risks and preventing possible complications.
