Upon diagnosis of pulmonary hypertension, your condition will be classified according to the severity of your symptoms. This classification helps in determining the most appropriate treatment plan for you. The disease is generally divided into four functional classes:
Class I: Patients experience no symptoms during ordinary physical activities.
Class II: Ordinary physical activities lead to mild symptoms such as chest pain or fatigue, but no symptoms are present at rest.
Class III: Even minimal physical activities, such as arm movements, cause symptoms, but no symptoms are present at rest.
Class IV: Symptoms are present even at rest and worsen with any physical activity.
