Pemphigus is a rare autoimmune disease that affects the skin and mucous membranes (including the mouth, nose, and throat). This disease characteristically manifests with fluid-filled blisters (bullae) and lesions. These lesions, which can easily affect the epidermis, are fragile, easily rupture, can lead to cellular destruction, and can potentially be life-threatening.
