Patients with shrapnel, bullets, or other metallic objects in their body must inform their physician before an MRI (Magnetic Resonance Imaging) scan. Based on this information, the patient's condition and the characteristics of the metallic object will be evaluated to determine if the MRI scan can be safely performed.
