Radiofrequency ablation (RFA) is generally not preferred when the tumor is located close to critical anatomical structures such as blood vessels and nerves due to the associated risks. During RFA, there is a risk of thermal damage to the soft tissues surrounding the bone. Skin necrosis may occur, particularly in tumors located very close to the skin surface. The effectiveness of the treatment and whether the tumor has been completely eliminated are assessed based on the reduction in the patient's symptoms post-procedure. However, RFA may carry a higher risk of recurrence compared to open surgery.
